Maison Rose de Wallerand
Former Summer Studio of Charles François Daubigny Cultural Venue • Artists’ Residence • Weaving Connections • Heritage Site of Regional Interest
In 1870, painter Charles François Daubigny purchased the barn adjacent to his home to transform it into a summer studio. There, he created large-scale paintings and welcomed many artist friends. The space soon became a true hub of creativity, frequented by Corot, Daumier, Oudinot, Cézanne, Morisot, Bourges, and Monet. Over a century later, between 2014 and 2021, visual artist Wallerand took up residence in the studio, reviving its original spirit as both a creative workshop and artists’ retreat, once again fostering artistic exchange, creation, and dialogue.
